INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER
MFTP-2000
INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON MULTIPHASE FLOW AND TRANSPORT PHENOMENA
5 - 10 November, 2000
Antalya, TURKEY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer is pleased to
announce MFTP-2000, an international symposium on Multiphase Flow and
Transport Phenomena taking place in Tekirova, Antalya, Turkey during 5 -10 November 2000.
LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Dear Participants,
I now have pleasure in presenting the final version of the program of presentations. I would like to thank you all for your response and cooperation and I look forward to seeing you at the conference. I am sure your presence will make the symposium a real success.
You may wish to make some minor suggestions but as the conference is drawing so near, I will not make any more changes through correspondence (email, etc.). The modifications, if any, will be resolved during the conference.
Lastly, I would like to thank the members of the Organizing Committee Prof. Brauner, Prof. Gutfinger, Prof. Garti, Prof. Hetsroni and Prof. Marmur. But in a special way I would like to thank Prof. Arinc with whom I have been in continuous intensive correspondence about every detail and I am sure he will take care of us in the same way as he has done in the past. In particular, I wish to thank Prof. Brauner and Prof. Gutfinger for all their assistance in reviewing the program and all the scientific aspects.
Thank you everyone and see you all at the conference!
Regards,
David
Prof. David Moalem Maron
Chairman of the Organizing Committee
BACKGROUND
The 1st International Symposium in this series, which dealt with liquid-liquid flow and transport phenomena took place in Antalya, Turkey during 3-7 November 1997. For the second symposium, we decided to broaden its scope to multiphase systems, including liquid-liquid, liquid-solid, solid-liquid and gas-solid systems. We have, however, excluded from the symposium vapor-liquid systems and phase change phenomena.
OBJECTIVE
The goal of the symposium is to provide a forum for the exposure and exchange of ideas, methods, and results in multiphase flow, heat and mass transfer.
Papers will be presented on the following subjects:
- Liquid-liquid systems and applications
- Flow patterns and flow characteristics: modeling and experiments
- Stability and transition: modeling and experiments
- Transport in liquid-liquid systems
- Transport in gas-liquid and solid-liquid systems
- Separation phenomena and equipment
- Multiphase mixing phenomena and equipment
- Measurement and instrumentation
- Properties of multiphase systems
- Bio-aerosols and bio-systems
- Surface and Interfacial Phenomena
- Pollution Control Technology
LOCATION
The symposium will be held at the Corinthia Club Hotel in Tekirova, near
Antalya, Turkey. Antalya is a metropolitan city on the southern
Mediterranean coast of Turkey with international flight connections and
historical sites.
